I am thankful for my wife and kids.

I’m also thankful that my mother in law has finished renovating her home and may move out of mine at some point this year.

That I’m in a financial position to be able to afford my truck and any costs tied to it with no assistance from anyone at the ripe old age of 19.

My friends and family for being supportive while I take time to figure out some things in my life.

My dad, for all he taught me while he was here on this Earth.

The fact that I know what I want to do for the rest of my life career wise while some friends are struggling to figure that out.

There’s so much more I’m forgetting but yeah.

I’m thankful for the large raise I just got at work, though ironically it means I have to keep the second job a bit longer. I’m not entirely onboard with the weather, though. It’s great for traveling but at almost 60 degrees we won’t be able to put the drinks outside to keep cold.

Thankful for work superiors who believe in me and took a chance with me, opening up another world that allowed me to get a car I’d wanted for a long time.

I’m thankful for my partner. It’ll be 10 years together in February. I don’t know what I’d do without him.

I’m also thankful for our parents’ health. I worry about mine because they moved 200 miles away to a very small town to retire and the nearest hospital is a 20-minute drive.

I know it’s a bit self centered, but my life is much better because of cars and those in particular with manual transmissions. I am also thankful for my smart and understanding family, the wonderful area I live, craft beer, modern computing that allows me to do so much I wouldn’t have been able to just 20 years ago, America and what it aspires to be (even if we f@ck it up in the execution...,) and street tacos.

Obvious answer is obvious. Also my parents were in Africa last week and my dad had a nasty fall. Broke a wrist and needs surgery next week to put some screws in but I’m extremely thankful they are back home in (mostly) one piece now.
